Purpose:

The cities of Hutchinson Winsted, along with McLeod County are seeking legislation to be included in the State Bonding Bill for the appropriation of funds to pave the Luce Line State Trail from Winsted to Cedar Mills.

Project Description:

The paved 10-foot wide trail section would run approximately 25 miles from Winsted to Cedar Mills. Besides providing a variety of uses for non-motorized recreational activities, the trail would accommodate snowmobile traffic and provide parallel sections to facilitate horseback riding. This, in turn, will make the Luce Line State Trail more attractive, accessible, and safer for a greater number of users.
